The new Digital age

We Are Progressing In The New Normal

On the occasion of the fourth graduation ceremony of our School, we congratulate the graduands and their families. Sadly, last year this time, it was impossible for us to congregate and celebrate the class of 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic. However, despite this incumbrance, we were able to mitigate against the pandemic, conduct the ceremony live via zoom and Google team.

At the onset of the pandemic, we shut down our school even before the official announcement was made by Government. We were also among the schools that fully complied with the covid-19 protocol. We seamlessly switched to online learning during the covid-19 break and by doing so, we were able to protect our pupils from the effects of covid-19. We joined a progressive global community to prove that the pandemic was not a barrier to learning. Even though the effects of covid-19 is fast reversing, we have accepted the new normal and will not relent in our efforts in health safety and hygiene.

As the current trend of the digital disruption is fast changing our lives and likely to completely change Job specifications in the near future, with great tendency to change global economy, we have over the years decisively remained focus on Stem Education. We have established a standard robotics laboratory in the school and specifically employed an expatriate who is an expert in Stem Education. Children are being trained in innovative 3D, Coding, Robotics and Artificial intelligence. Our students, mostly below age eight have exhibited their computational skills at our recently concluded Robotics Exhibition.

Some of the project exhibited include AI projects on face and color recognition, object recognition as well as line detection and machine learning. In robotics, our students created an auto soap dispenser, space rover, and robots that display human emotions and lots more. We have also integrated projects on renewable energy, recycle and waste management machine and earth revolution. Our determination is to create computational thinkers, innovative designers and global digital citizens. And it is obvious we are right on track!.

We are pioneering a paradigm shift in learning, from abstraction to concrete and reality. We decompose complex solution to simple chunks and demystify the myth and difficulties created around mathematics, technology and science. We have established a strong collaboration with adaptive learning software companies in the UK and USA, which help us bring most recent learning contents to our students. With these, our students are able to compete favourably with their peers in Europe and America. We have been recognised and given distinguished awards by both national and international institutions.

Stem Sports Academy is also progressing. We have facilities for volleyball, badminton, basketball, boxin9, sack racing and football. In collaboration with Ben Karate Academy, we started karate classes in early June with a full-term scholarship for 15 students. We also trained our students on chess and scrabble games. We have established clubs and societies to engage our students with real life experiences. Some of the clubs are Baking Club, Stem Club, Music Club, Press Club, etc. These clubs are, and will continue to serve as alternative avenue for our kids to acquire skills.

Our emphasis in language learning is receiving priority and at the moment, all pupils at Basic Level speak one or two international languages in addition to English. We have been resolute in training our staff within the period under review and have trained them in English, Arabic and French Phonics, Emotional Control in classrooms, Handwriting, Diction and Grammar, Service Mentality, Early Years Care, Application of Edutech tools in Classroom, Higher Thinking Order Lesson Plan and Management, to mention but few. Some of the trainings were conducted online by foreign experts.

The outlook of the school growth is promising. We have a total number of 18 classroom, 201 students, 52 staff out of which 24 are trained teaching staff and one expatriate. We maintain students/ teacher ratio of 12:2 at Pre-School. This astronomical growth is unprecedented and wouldn’t have been possible without your trust and support. We appreciate that, your kids are invaluable treasure you surrender to us for care. By the will of God Almighty, we shall do everything within our capacity not to fail you and the kids. Thank you all.
